Books vs Movies

Books vs movies…is possibly one of the most debatable topics out there. I’ve loved my honest share of both and can’t help but compare. I have honestly watched a larger variety of films than I’ve studied books, however, at some point of this pandemic, my hobbies absolutely reversed. Initially, I spent all my free time gazing, shifting, and binging movies but after a while, I felt like I wished for a detox from all of the technological know-how around me. So, as an alternative, I began studying the books from which some of my favored films had been inspired, and those covered Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Percy Jackson….

During my school years, I came across all of these books in our school’s library. And due to the fact, I already cherished the movies, I usually wished to read the books as well. But by no means the less I held back every time my pal advised me that after reading the books, I would in no way be capable to watch the films the same way. And now that I’ve examined them, I can’t help but say that it’s true. But reading the books used to be such an experience that I wouldn’t have it any other way. I might not be able to watch the movies anymore but each and every book presented tons more than the movies could.

Don’t get me wrong…it isn’t that the films aren’t precise however they are constrained by a time limit. Often, we don’t get to see outstanding scenes that would possibly have fashioned the pillar or bridged a bond between two characters, in addition, there are many components that are altered such that the essence of the proper story is lost. Apart from that studying books also helps us build our vocabulary and increases our comprehension speed…which is truly an added bonus when it comes to our contrast between books and movies.

Yet, we can’t omit the truth that both movies and books assist us to escape to an imaginary world and relieve ourselves from the actual world. Whenever I end up studying or staring at any of these fictional books or movies, I wonder how cool would it be if I could be in that fictional world as well. Thus, I don’t suppose it’s fundamental to select just one amongst the two because there is an abundance of splendid films that aren’t inspired by books and vice versa.

Stephen King rightfully said,

“Books and movies are like apples and oranges, they both are fruit, but taste absolutely different”

Hence even if I suppose that one is better than the other, I would never be capable to give up any of the two.
